GTECH'S SPIELO SUBSIDIARY TO PLACE ALFASTREET R8 MULTI-PLAYER AUTOMATED ROULETTE STATIONS AT DELAWARE'S THREE GAMING VENUES
PROVIDENCE, RI (U.S.) – (July 24, 2008) – GTECH Corporation’s video lottery
subsidiary, Spielo USA, has been selected by the Delaware State Lottery to
provide Alfastreet R8 multi-player roulette stations (“Alfastreet R8”) for the
three gaming venues in the state: Delaware Park, Dover Downs Hotel and
Casino, and Harrington Raceway and Casino. The Alfastreet R8s will be
manufactured by GTECH’s gaming machine subsidiary, Atronic Americas LLC,
which holds the exclusive license to manufacture and distribute Alfastreet
gaming products in North America. Spielo will be the solutions integrator for this
delivery. The Alfastreet R8 closely simulates live roulette play by integrating an
automated roulette wheel in the center of the table, and eight player stations
around the table. Players have the option to bet via a touch pad, touch screen,
or a combination of both.
“With 56 gaming positions at all of the gaming venues in Delaware, Alfastreet R8
will provide players, who typically prefer live table games, with an entirely
unique experience, including features such as an automated roulette wheel, low
and high wagering, one-touch betting, and multi-lingual screen menus,” said
Victor Duarte, Spielo Chief Operating Officer. “For the Delaware Lottery, in
addition to greater profits when compared to live table games, Alfastreet R8
offers the highest levels of security, is easy to maintain, and allows for more
efficient staffing.”
“The Delaware Lottery is very pleased to have found the Alfastreet automated
roulette machines to have the best overall reviewed product,” said Wayne
Lemons, Delaware Lottery Director. “We look forward to the placement of
the Alfastreet R8 product at our three video lottery agents, Delaware Park,
Dover Downs, and Harrington Raceway & Casino. The Delaware Lottery feels the
Alfastreet R8 will be a good fit for our players.”
The State of Delaware does not allow live table games at its gaming venues.
The Alfastreet R8 stations are expected to be operational at the three gaming
venues in the fourth quarter of 2008.
