PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND (US) – October 20, 2008 - GTECH Corporation has extended its exclusive sales and marketing rights with Austrian product management company Prompttec for the Wintainer™ system, a clerk-assisted, self-service lottery terminal. GTECH will now offer Wintainer to lottery markets worldwide. Prompttec is the designer and developer of the Wintainer terminal.

Wintainer was created for small to medium size retailers to integrate lottery into standard retail product sales. Retailers may place the Wintainer at various retail locations, which will significantly improve customer convenience for both lottery and non-lottery items. The Wintainer’s ideal small size allows lotteries and retailers to position the terminal in the most convenient location unique to their retail space.

Players can simply select tickets for instant (scratch off) or Quick Pick online (draw) games from a display panel with the touch of a button and the selected tickets are released from the Wintainer by the retail clerk. The cost per ticket is also shown and automatically added as a line item to the player’s sales slip.
