GTECH CORPORATION SIGNS THREE-YEAR CONTRACT EXTENSION WITH THE GEORGIA LOTTERY TO CONTINUE PROVIDING ONLINE LOTTERY PRODUCTS AND SERVICES THROUGH SEPTEMBER 2013
PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND (U.S.) – November 14, 2008 - GTECH Corporation
announced that it has signed a three-year contract extension with the Georgia Lottery Corporation to continue providing online lottery technology and services, as well as new games and products, through September 2013. GTECH expects to receive revenues of approximately $125 million over the three-year period.
“GTECH is very proud of our partnership with the Georgia Lottery, which dates back to the startup of the Lottery in 1993,” said GTECH President and CEO Jaymin B. Patel. “In the 15 years since that time, we have been privileged to support the Lottery in their rollout of online games, including KENO, and the tremendous growth of their retailer network to more than 8,100 retail locations today, making them a best-practice retail lottery.”
“We look forward to working closely with the Georgia Lottery over the next several years to offer even more flexible retail solutions, to include expanding their self-service product line, and delivering ES MultiMedia, an innovative retail
marketing tool,” continued Mr. Patel. “This extension provides the scope of
services and products necessary to maximize revenues for Georgia’s world-class
HOPE Scholarship and Pre-K Programs.”

Over the duration of the three-year extension, GTECH will continue to provide the operation and maintenance of the Georgia Lottery’s online central system, terminals, and communications network. GTECH will also introduce ES MultiMedia digital advertising displays to stimulate increased awareness of the Georgia Lottery product line. The Company will expand the Lottery’s self-service network through additional Instant to Go™ machines and Ticket-Scan™ ticketchecker units. Moreover, GTECH will introduce Lottery to Go™ self-service
machines and continue to provide marketing consultancy for existing and new online and social space games, which will become even more important in achieving a balanced portfolio.
