LOTTOMATICA’S GTECH SUBSIDIARY SIGNS TWO-YEAR CONTRACT EXTENSION WITH THE WISCONSIN LOTTERY

Company to Receive Approximately $25 Million in Revenue

ROME (ITALY) – PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND (U.S.), July 06, 2009 – Lottomatica S.p.A. announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, GTECH Corporation, has signed a two-year contract extension with the Wisconsin Lottery to continue providing online lottery technology and ongoing services. The contract extension will commence on June 26, 2011, and is expected to generate revenues for GTECH of approximately $25 million beginning on July 1, 2011. The Wisconsin Lottery has been a valued GTECH customer since 1989.

We are also prepared to support the Lottery’s growth strategy through new retail business models to further drive sales and help them to achieve the highest possible revenue for property tax relief in Wisconsin.”

Under the extension terms, GTECH will continue providing the operation and maintenance of the Lottery’s online/instant central system, terminals, and communications network, as well as field service, marketing support, and hotline management. In addition to its primary data center in Madison, Wisconsin, GTECH will provide the Lottery with a back-up data center in Austin, Texas.
