GTECH CORPORATION SIGNS TWO-YEAR CONTRACT EXTENSION TO CONTINUE PROVIDING VIDEO LOTTERY CENTRAL SYSTEM TECHNOLOGY AND SERVICES TO THE OREGON STATE LOTTERY

PROVIDENCE, RI – (September 16, 2009) – GTECH Corporation announced that it has signed a two-year contract extension with the Oregon State Lottery to continue providing video lottery central system technology and services through October 4, 2012. The parties also have the option to extend the contract for an additional year.

President & CEO of GTECH’s SPIELO affiliate, Victor Duarte, said, “The extension of this contract in Oregon is important to GTECH and to our video lottery affiliate SPIELO as, together, we have assisted the Lottery in creating one of the top-performing government-sponsored video lottery programs in the United States. The Lottery’s decision to extend our video lottery contract is a strong endorsement of the Company’s expertise, reliability, and proven market performance for the state of Oregon and its players.”

The Oregon State Lottery ranks second in the United States in terms of video lottery terminal (VLT) net machine income for 2008, with total net machine income of approximately $798 million.

Under the extension, GTECH will continue to maintain the Company’s Enterprise Series Video™ central system, as well as 2,500 video site controllers, which link 12,300 VLTS to the central system, and provide validation of winning receipts and printing of retailer reports. The Lottery will also continue to receive video lottery central system software support and software licensing from GTECH.

GTECH has provided video lottery central system technology and services to the Oregon State Lottery since February 1997. SPIELO has provided more than 2,200 of the VLTs currently operating in Oregon.
