GTECH CORPORATION’S GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS SUPPORT ORGANIZATION REAFFIRMS PRESTIGIOUS CMMI-DEV MATURITY LEVEL 4

PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND (U.S.) – March 09, 2010 – Lottomatica Group S.p.A. subsidiary GTECH Corporation has received a Capability Maturity Model Integration Development (CMMI-DEV) maturity level 4 rating from the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) for GTECH’s Global Technology Solutions Support organization. While GTECH received its initial maturity level 4 rating from SEI in 2006, this latest appraisal confirms an ongoing process improvement commitment by GTECH.

“The latest CMMI Level 4 rating is a testament to the dedication and willingness of GTECH’s Global Technology Solutions organization to constantly excel and improve,” said GTECH Senior Vice President of Global Technology Solutions Matthew Whalen. “This achievement affirms GTECH’s commitment to continual process improvements and implementation of industry best practices throughout our organization. GTECH’s adherence to this model ensures the highest level of quality when providing solutions for our customers.”

CMMI is an internationally-acknowledged approach that employs best practices to appraise, recognize, and guide process improvements throughout an entire organization. The CMMI-DEV, which focuses exclusively on Software and Systems Engineering, is a framework that defines a set of objective standards for assessing an organization’s full-range of Engineering and Organizational processes.

GTECH’s maturity rating was confirmed by the Systems and Software Consortium, Inc. (SSCI) via an appraisal performed in accordance with the Standard CMMI® Appraisal Method for Process Improvement (SCAMPISM) Class A methodology. SSCI is a partnership of market leaders, government agencies, and university affiliates that conducts CMMI appraisals. Since 2006, GTECH’s Global Technology Solutions Support organization has instituted CMMI-DEV Level 4 compliant processes across six continents.

Established in 1986 at Carnegie Mellon University, the SEI Capability Maturity Model assists many government agencies and private sector organizations in selecting reliable and high quality suppliers of software products and services.
