LOTTOMATICA GROUP SUBSIDIARY GTECH CORPORATION SIGNS SEVEN-YEAR ONLINE LOTTERY CONTRACT WITH TOTALIZATOR SPORTOWY IN POLAND
GTECH TO ASSIST LOTTERY IN FUTURE GROWTH PLANS THROUGH NEW SYSTEM TECHNOLOGY, PRODUCTS, AND ONGOING SERVICES THROUGH NOVEMBER 2018
ROME (ITALY) and PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND (U.S.) – July 12, 2010 – Lottomatica Group S.p.A. announced that a consortium of GTECH companies was chosen by Totalizator Sportowy Sp. z o.o., a government-owned lottery organization in Warsaw, to provide a wide array of lottery technology and ongoing services. The seven-year contract, which follows a competitive procurement, will commence on December 1, 2011, and includes the option for three extension years. GTECH has been Totalizator Sportowy’s online lottery technology and services provider since 1991 and will continue to maintain a primary data center and a backup data center in Warsaw.

Patel. “We stand ready with the latest technology solutions that embrace creative new game content and distribution capabilities – solutions that will drive further growth and return more value to Totalizator Sportowy in the coming years.”
Under the new contract terms, GTECH will provide Totalizator Sportowy with a comprehensive set of solutions including a central system conversion to the Company’s Enterprise Series (ES), and approximately 12,500 GT1200 terminals. Additionally, the existing communications network will be upgraded utilizing the latest IP technologies.
GTECH will install its ES MultiMedia technology that will allow Totalizator Sportowy to manage, distribute, and display multimedia content such as games, advertising, transactions, and messaging through a single point of control.
GTECH will also provide Totalizator Sportowy with the Company’s IP-based ES Connect software. ES Connect is a highly secure, high volume, open standards network interface that connects a lottery’s transaction processing engine to a multitude of sales channels and devices.
Over the next three years, Totalizator Sportowy has the option to outsource retailer training, field service, and instant-ticket distribution services to GTECH.
Additionally, Totalizator Sportowy has the option to implement Commercial Services products, such as bill payments and mobile phone top ups, utilizing GTECH’s ES Commercial Payments Technology Solutions; GTECH’s Lottery Inside for alternative distribution channels; and, Internet and mobile services, which are subject to enabling legislation.
